Figure It Out
A History of New York in 50 Objects

Figure It Out is a graphic manifestation of New York City's energetic scenery. Using powerful elements of geometrical forms and colors, along with a game of riddles, the exhibition reveals the stories  of the individuals and the collectives that shaped the city we know today. This is New York City from a fresh and playful point of view, introduced by 50 of its historical objects.

A History of New York in 50 Objects is a narrative experience that engages visitors in the stories behind 50 significant objects that embody New York, and chronicle life in the city over time.

This environmental installation is based upon a 2012 New York Times article by Sam Roberts.

The content is created by the New York Times and presented in association with the New York Historical Society.
